The AMC states that it will recognise graduates from a WHO or IMED listed medical school for the purpose of sitting the AMC exam. Vanuatu will be listed with WHO. The statistics for success in passing the AMC exams are available at http://amc.org.au/statcot.asp The AMC exam is actually based on the level expected from an Australian final year medical student. Those students that experience major difficulties generally come from a university that did not train in the British model, did not train in English, and are many years post graduation. The actual pass rate for those students who are recent graduates of British style medical schools is very high. See the Appendix on IMG issues for more detail.
