Has scientist changed the original definition to what a theory means to make the modern meaning?
Scientists go out of their way to argue against those who deny evolution because “It’s just a theory.” A theory is conceptual framework that accounts for a number of facts. If you have a strong theory, it accounts for lots of facts. If you have a weak theory, lots of facts don’t fit. When it comes to the facts, scientists include the discovery of simpler fossilized lifeforms in older strata of rock; the similarity of shape between members of related species; the observable evidence of changes in species in isolated environments; the known ability of all lifeforms to give birth to offspring with significant physical “defects”; the knowledge of the working of DNA and its imperfect replication; the direct evidence of genetics as studied by farmers for millennia. In the battle between the theory of evolution and the theory of creationism, the evolution theory accounts for many more facts than the creationism theory.
