Has Rekjavik always been the capital of Iceland?

0

Rekjavik has been the capital since 1845. Prior to that their general assembly was in Pingvellir but I don’t think that that location was technically considered a “capital” city. So I would say, yes Rekjavik has always been Iceland’s capital.
