Lee’s concept, JKD, died with him but his teaching have lasted on. He was a great philosopher, ahead of his time in his teaching and training methods but he never meant for anyone to say “I study Keet Kune Do” but rather to take his methods and apply them to their art to make them a better martial artist. JKD is alive today but it has been made a system. Some schools even offer belt ranks in it. As with all good concepts when the founder dies the bastardization begins and JKD has seen many things like that happen to it. It is a real shame that people call what he did a system of martial art. It isn’t. It is a new way of training using whatever martial art one studies.
