It’s the drug that caused all of those horrific birth defects when it was given to pregnant women around the world (mostly in Europe). USA was essentially unaffected by this tragedy because of the FDA. You may dislike government regulations on industry, but the fact is that they’re a necessity to protect the safety of the public. Maybe you would prefer a return to unproven, untested, and unsafe medicine distributed directly to consumers without regulation, but I’d rather know that the drug I take actually contains what it says, does what it says, and was proven to be relatively safe. The system isn’t perfect, but I would love to see what you would call an alternative.
