Has Environmental Effects Monitoring been used to shape or alter City operations in the past?
Yes, the City used earlier results of Environmental Effects Monitoring to eliminate water treatment plant waste discharges to the Ottawa River. New treatment facilities were commissioned in 2008 at Brtiannia and Lemieux Island Water Purification Plants and the Pickard Centre to eliminate these discharges.
