Although it is possible the invasion was partly to do with the “control” of this trade in “opium for the masses”, another plausible reason is that the Taliban would not agree to the conditions related to the oil pipelind to take hydrocarbon resources through their country and to the warm water port of Gwador in Pakistian. PS. The US/UK addiction to oil is probably more dangerous than the drugs. US cars use more than half than all those in the rest of the world put together.
