Has anyone used the CineCity blimps?
I guess it depends what you want. I bought a Cinecity blimp. I like it. It came promptly and had everything I needed in one box. I also bought a converter so I could attach it to a painter’s pole. Overall, I saved lots of money compared with buying Rode gear. I’m not a pro or making movies for the big screen, but it worked great for me. Maybe it’s not as strong as others (?), but I take care of it and don’t worry about it breaking. It comes with all the necessary hardware (and more) to mount whatever mic you own (I used a Rode NTG2). The rubber band mounting may not be state of the art, but it appears identical to what you get with a “cheap” Rode setup. I know you get what you pay for, but in filmmaking you can pay and pay all day and never stop. If you make a living off this, then maybe you should have a Rode blimp, not to mention all the other brand name products out there.
