Has anyone tried hearing aids that are in the arms of reading glasses.?
Eyeglass hearing aids were quite popular back in the day – specifically the mid 1950s-1970s; however, the only place you will find them today are in hearing aids museums (yes there is such a thing!). The idea behind eyeglass hearing aids was to not only hide the fact that a person was wearing a hearing aid but to make it more comfortable to have both eyeglasses and a hearing aid sitting behind the ear. Initially eyeglass hearing aids went away when custom in-the-ear hearing aids were introduced. This relieved the issues of hearing aids and eyeglasses competing for space behind the ear. Behind-the-ear hearing aids have also become much smaller through the years thanks to digital technology. As the tiny digital chips inside hearing aids became smaller so did the hearing aids. Because of this miniaturization that has occurred, most hearing aid wearers do not complain of wearing both eyeglasses and hearing aids. I’d recommend reading the following article on the history of hearing aids.
