You need to be aware that Oxford basically doesn’t do modular courses. A quick look at their human sciences course suggests that you get to choose two options in your third year plus your dissertation subject, and that’s it as far as choosing goes. You’re examined at the end of the first year on everything you’ve studied in the first year, and at the end of the third year on everything you’ve studied in years 2 and 3. That’s a significantly different amount of work you need to remember, compared to if you only ever have to know about the contents of one module, then you get examined on it, then you can effectively forget it. And you get one chance, no going back and having another try if your marks aren’t what you’d have liked. It’s extremely tough. There’s a reason for their reputation.
