Has anyone successfully install Intel IDE bus master driver with Toshiba XM-6102B CD-ROM?

I could not successfully install V.3.01. My computer hangs up while booting up with “Window protection error”. V.2.85 boots up OK, but CD-ROM can not read files nor file folders. It just display bunch of garbage characters. Any help to resolve this problem will be greatly appreciated.
