Has anyone owned a Husky on an unfenced farm?
Before we found our second dog I was interested in getting another siberian husky as a playmate for my girl. I kept checking Petfinder for the perfect male, really didn’t want 2 females. The one I was most interested in lived on a hobby farm. The owners thought that as long as they got him as a puppy they could train all the running and prey instincts out of him. They were wrong, he killed chickens and barn cats and even a full grown goat, and had to be kept in the house since he wouldn’t stop running off. These were people who had wanted a Husky for years, read tons about them, were very experienced with dogs, and still put him in a completely wrong environment. Of course there are always going to be weird dogs that don’t quite fit the norm. My girl is a lazy dog in the house, but let her outside and she is a bundle of energy.
