Has anyone here used the new silicone baking dishes?
In my opinion they’re a waste of time. Because they are so flexible you do need to put them on a cookie sheet so why not just use the metal pan to begin with. There are a couple of positives for new bakers… 1. Nothing sticks so it could be a good choice for people who aren’t proficient in greasing and flouring pans. 2. Because of their flexibility they are easy to store. If you do decide to purchase them make sure you get good quality. Fold the item in half. If you see anything white you know they’re not good ones. The only silicone products I enjoy using are the spatulas (because they won’t melt), hot pads because they are so very easy to clean and the oven liner, which I cut to fit my cookie sheets. I saved half the price by using the black oven liner instead of the fancy sheets made for cookie sheets and they work just as well. They are nicer to use in place of parchment paper for cookies that are notorious for sticking.
