Has anyone here ever done a Venture photo session?
Yes, we tried them a year ago and weren’t impressed. Basically they talked us into coming in for a ‘free’ session and promised as a framed print at the end of it. So, you go in and they get you to run around with your kids and pretend you are enjoying yourself while a photographer who is just out of high school tries to get you to laugh. It’s very formularised, and basically they do the same photo’s for everyone so it’s not that personalised. They then contact you in a few weeks to come for a viewing which is more like a special effects show than an actual viewing. You get put into a cinema-like room and they proceed to run a microsoft powerpoint show of the photos against a backdrop of irritatingly loud music. After this they do everything in their power to get you to part with literally thousands of euros for a few prints. They are extremely expensive.
