Has anyone had steroid and cortizone injections in their spine?

I am not a big fan of these injections so keep that in mind when reading my answer. The injections are supposed to do two things when given. The first is an anesthetic that is given to stop or reduce the amount of pain that is being felt. The second part of the injection is the cortisone. The steroid is used to reduce the size of the infammation of the joints and nerves in that area. For some it is a one time procedure and they have no more problems but for the vast majortiy of people it is only temporary at best and short lived. Because of the negative effects of the steroids they can only be given twice a year and if that is enough to help you great otherwise you are still going to have the problem. If it doesn’t work then you are still in as much pain. The more that you feel the injection the better the results.
