Has anyone had any experience with mixed brands of Cat6A UTPcable running 10gig in the same cable tray?
This was selected as Best Answer Pat, Below please find an answer to your question that I received from our manager of sales application engineers: At this point there are a lot of theories as to what the affects would be when running unlike cables in the same pathway. TIA has not done any study of this as of yet nor have there been any contributions to the committees. There was a study done by a Japanese company where they took 3 different manufacturer’s Cat 6A UTP cables, bundled them together and performed ANEXT testing. All of them failed. This study was presented to TIA awhile ago now but nothing further was done. The main reason is because they did not want to hold up the release of the Cat 6A standard any further. This is probably the reason why some vendors would be reluctant to warranty their cables being mixed in the same pathways with other vendors Cat 6A UTP cables. Tyco Electronics EMEA has retained a third party testing organization to perform live network testing on seve
