Has anyone had any experience with Glaser Safety Slugs, 45 ACP?
I have personally never shot the Glaser Safety Slugs but would strongly encourage any defensive shooter to stay away from them for several reasons. The first reason is cost – at $2-3 per round, it would be practically impossible (unless you are independantly wealthy) to shoot enough rounds through your gun to establish reliability – most recommend shooting between 100-200 rounds of whatever defensive ammunition you are hoping to carry, and if you have just one failure of any kind in those 100-200 rounds, to drop it completely and try another type of ammunition. That would run you between $200-600 to put that many rounds through your gun – probably not a good investment. Remember that it doesn’t really matter what others’ experiences have been, you have to establish that your defensive round of choice is 100% reliable in YOUR gun, and all guns are different. Further, even if you were able to afford the 100-200 rounds to proof your gun / ammo combination, Glaser Safety Slugs, like other
