I have had both past life regressions and some past life spontaneous recall. I have tried fututre life “progression” as you call it, but have only had so-so success. I DO NOT believe anyone is ever being “punished” for a past life. I think we carefiully choose every life we enter. And I always feel free will is operating. We may choose certain circumstances and abilities, but then we make choices using those circumstances and abilities as a starting point.
