Has anyone had a nerve root block injection?

There are different types of injections for back/leg pain, so I am not exactly sure which type yours is. I have had two lumbar transforaminal (from the side) epidural steroid injections done. This procedure was done using fluoroscope (X-ray in real time) while I was under sedation. You will feel the local anesthetic, and not much else because the area will be numbed. You may feel a little pressure. A friend of mine had another type of steroid injection done; she had to lean over a pillow, and the doctor injected the local, then the steroid medication. She reported feeling the local, then a slight pressure as the steroid was injected. In my case I had to walk into a room and get up on a table and lie on my stomach with a pillow for my head and stomach. The techs /nurses did their thing and the doctor was out of sight. The X-ray was positioned in the right place and the nurse gave me my ‘cocktail’. All I remember was pain for a second (local, likely), then having to roll off the table on
