I was only in labour about 10 hours, but the last couple hours of that weren’t very pleasant and hurt a lot. While it was okay and I could do it again, I had a hard time healing and was VERY tired afterwards. It went down very differently the second time, but I didn’t go into the hospital until much later than I had with the first and then got the epidural right away. Then I SLEPT through (literally) the part that with the first one had been miserable, and woke up only when my body was prepared to push, and the baby was out within ten minutes, and I was MUCH more aware of what was going on. Now I understand that my situation was unusual, partly in that I had an exceptional anesthesiologist who was taking his time and not
