Has anyone gotten pregnant right after getting off the depo shot?
To be honest I don’t know the true answer to this one but will tell you what facts I do know and they are: The injection actually stays in your system for fourteen weeks, the reason you have them every twelve weeks is because each injection takes two weeks to get into your system so if you have them every twelve weeks you are constantly covered, most clinics give them every ten to eleven weeks to allow those of us that forget to attend not to have unplanned pregnancies! As for when you can conceive it could be straight after week fourteen depending on how furtile you are. Just because it can take up to two years for your menstrual cycle to regulate doesn’t mean you are not going to get pregnant. Personally my periods started three months after the end of my last injection but have taken six months to become regular. My advice is better be safe than sorry if you are concerned about pregnancy if not bonk away and good luck if it is a baby that you want.
