Reflections (off leather, or anything that is reflective for that matter) are produced by directly aiming the light source at the object with the understanding that the angle of incidence equals the angle of reflectance. Meaning, the angle at which you aim the light is the angle that the reflection will take. You place your camera, or the lights, or the object so as to maximize (or, really, control) the amount of reflection so that the object looks best. You can also control reflection using a polarizer (a circular polarizer) which will allow more or less reflection to affect the camera. If the reflections are a problem, try bouncing the light off a large white flat or using a soft-box. The blacks in your photos are full-bodied and lustrous so I think that you are using the kind of indirect/bounced lighting I am referring to.
