Has anyone got ANYTHING good to say about the US public school system?
The US public school system has *enormous* potential. How do I know? I’m a product of that system, and I received a very good education. Had I picked a sufficiently ‘soft’ major when I went to college, I would have been classified a ‘Junior’ by my second quarter, because I had so many Advanced Placement credits from high school. That being said, my schools were in a relatively safe relatively well-funded district. The problems of dealing with multilingualism hadn’t fully manifested by the time I graduated. I was also the product of a stable home and engaged parents who cared how well I did. Poor public schools are a symptom, not the disease. . . .
