Has anyone gone on to have a sucessful pregnancy after placental abruption ending in fetal demise??
I totally feel for you. I had an abruption, too. My son survived for a year, but it was really hard to watch. He had extremely severe brain damage. Are you sure you’re ready? Because I’m 3 years after my loss and nervous as hell during this pregnancy. Anyway, here’s what’s been happening with my pregnancy… I’m 28 weeks. In my last pregnancy, the initial abruption occurred at 32 weeks, and I delivered 2 weeks later. With this pregnancy, I had a hemorrhage that lasted a month. It was kind of like a partial abruption (look up “subchorionic hemorrhage” for more details). Well, that has resolved, but now I am having a lot more contractions than I remember from my previous pregnancies. My doctors are watching me closely, but as far as abruptions, there aren’t any preventative measures they can really take other than to restrict your activities. If you really feel like you are ready to try again, I strongly suggest you get on a prenatal, iron supplement, and a protein supplement for a month
I am sorry but this is a story about a friend rather than me but I will give it to you as best as I can. My friend suffered placental abruption at 35 weeks and her beautiful daughter, Mia was also born sleeping after an emegency c section. She had conceived Mia through IVF and so waited a couple of years before she went back. After a number of unsuccessful attempts she conceived her second child. She did change doctors, underwent weekly scanning and appointments and rested extensively although some of that was her choice rather than doctors advice. In the end she did give birth to her second daughter who is perfectly healthy and while never voids the memories of Mia brings her so much hope and joy. My friend has returned to IVF unsuccessfully but now rests knowing she has two beautiful daughters one who sleeps eternally. If you could see my friend and her daughter you would have so much hope to try again. I have read although I can’t guarantee its accuracy that your risk of this happen
