Has anyone gained weight while taking Seroquel?
I’m not familiar with this particular medicine, but I do know when it comes to many psycho-pharmaceuticals, that some of them can cause weight gain, and it differs among individuals. For instance, the antidepressant I take is sometimes known for weight gain, as is my mood stabilizer. But I find it quells my appetite and I keep my weight down much better because I’m not as obsessed with food or as hungry. Whenever I have to go off them for something, like a surgery (mine doesn’t go well with anesthesia), I find my appetite kicks up. So, everyone is different in response to different meds. The thing is, if you find that your weight has kicked up quickly on the med, you have to decide just like any medicine: do the benefits out-weigh the side effects? They all have side effects: fatigue, stomach aches, tired, can’t sleep, dizzy, etc. Only YOU can decide if the weight gain is not worth it to you.
