Has anyone ever gone into labour after drinking castor oil?
I took it and it gave me horrible diarrhea and uncomfortable non-progressing contractions. When I finally went into true labor 4 days later we found out it had crossed the placenta and caused my daughter to have a bowel movement in utero, which she aspirated. Her oxygen level was low at birth and they had to take her to the Special Care Nursery immediately after she was born to give her respiratory measures. I did not even get to hold her first. I was horrified that I had caused this to happen just because I was uncomfortable and wanted to force labor. Thankfully she was ok and brought back to me an hour later. Please don’t try this! I know how uncomfortable being overdue is but you don’t want to do anything to potentially harm your precious child. Nipple stimulation may help you at this point and it is very natural. Good luck!
