This is called “Workplace Bullying” and is a serious problem. There are no easy answers I’m afraid. Most people accept it and put up with it, as retaliating can have devastating effects on your career. However, depending on your job and/or seniority, you might not have a lot to loose? In which case you can fight back, but risk being dismissed. You can play the long game and collect as much evidence of wrongdoing as you can – Some phones will record for example… When you have enough evidence, or cannot stand it any longer, you can go to the human resources manager/personnel manager and make an official complaint. Alternatively you can get legal advice on suing the company once you have some proof. If you need to confront the manager, you should remember that you will not be the first he/she has done this to, so there is likely to be plenty of others who will tell you of past employees who have been forced out through their behavior.
