Has anyone compared Blackduck to Palamida open source license management software?
I work with Palamida and have recommended them to many of my clients. The advantage of Palamida is twofold: first they have a strong version detection capability that yields accurate inventory and can strip out the clutter of “false positives” which hampers the usefulness of other solutions in this space. Second, they provide vulnerability notifications, even for applications that have already been distributed or are now live on the Web. So, an application whose open source inventory was free from vulnerabilities one week, could have vulnerabilities the next, as new ones are reported. From a risk management perspective, this type of ongoing alerting is invaluable.
