Never been, and to be honest as I’m not of the religion(s) in question (despite being a Theist) I wouldn’t do so. I think it would be fairly disrespectful, and just isn’t part of my tradition. — Saw an interesting program on TV a few month back. Not looked that much into it (so wont claim it as fact) It reckoned that given how the Jewish temple was regularly cleaned with water from a stream, the wailing wall might not be part of it (if the walls were part of it’s remains bucket loads of water would need to be raised/carried from the stream- could be done but maybe unlikely) Suggestion was that it was part of Roman temple (IMHO that would go a long way to explaining the spitting on it that used to take place) , or maybe part of numerous other religious buildings that are known to have been around that location That said the egregore(collective “tradition”/”opinion”) of many Jewish people says it’s the remains of their temple, so for them it IS so.
