Has anyone been on a cruise over the Christmas Holidays?

I went on a cruise from Dec. 26 to Dec. 31. The ship was decorated in holiday decor, but little mention of the holiday was made. Maybe because it did not technically fall on x-mas. But I also believe that it is because they tend to book a lot more non-christians on those cruises. They usually get the time off work, and have no big holiday celebrations to go to on x-mas, so why not take a cruise. You should check with the individual cruise line before booking to see what holiday activities there may be. But my guess is that it would be minimum.

My family went on a Holland America cruise 3 years ago for Christmas. It was a lot of fun. Everything was decorated, and the cruise line offered little decoration packages for the cabins. We picked one that had a little Christmas tree, and then a bottle of wine for my parents. The little Christmas tree is now in my dorm room. On Christmas day Santa came down through one of the smokestacks, and gave all the kids presents (little Holland America merchandise). All the staff were in Santa hats. It was a lot of fun (and much warmer than home).
