Check your CPU usage (right click on the task bar and click on “Task Manager”). If it’s about 100% constantly, check the program that is using most of it. My girlfriend used to have an Acer, and I had to uninstall one of the Acer apps as it was slowing the machine down by using 100% of the CPU all the time. After uninstalling it, the system was much more responsive and seemed faster. It may still be worth updating to the latest BIOS as you were recommended, as this should fix some issues, even if they aren’t this one or ones you are aware of.
