Has any1 been cured with type 1 diabetes?
Nah diabetes is not curable, especially type 1. Type 1 diabetes is basically where your insulin is not capable of producing insulin which is important in the metabolism of sugars and carbohydrates. Type 2 diabetes generally starts where your body can still produce insulin, it just pretty much doesn’t know how much or when anymore (short version) and that can often be managed with diet if it is not too severe but usually you have to take a medication such as metphormin (generic glucophlage). IN short you will never be cured of the type 1 diabetes, but it is very manageable and if you stay on top of your treatment and eat healthily and exercise your life span or quality should not be affected from it.
As far as I no no one has been “cured” of the disease. Type 1 diabetics can receive pancreas or islet cell transplants that in some cases help the patient become “insulin-free” meaning that they don’t have to take insulin for some time. Whether or not the patient becomes insulin free they usually report that such transplants help them control their diabetes better. Hope this helps!
