The soap opera parody ‘Soap’ dealt with alien abduction when Burt was taken by aliens and was replaced on earth by an alien who looked just like him.

Yes. Child molesting has been dealt with quite a few times. It’s a common story like breast cancer, alcoholism, etc. The only alien abduction story I know of is when Fallon on “The Colbys” (Emma Samms) was abducted…but I seem to recall they didn’t really explain it. At any rate, this is a fantasy storyline, not “controversial”.
