Hello. For many people, English is a second language not a first so they may not be aware of the subtle nuances and differences of the written word. The words ‘definitely’ and ‘defiantly’ are indeed two proper words with totally different meanings and spellings. If I know that the writer has English as a first language, and wrote something in an appalling way as often happens,I rewrite the question as my answer to show them how poor their English grammer is. Illiteracy in YA! is sometimes dreadful.
