Has a two-stage conference been considered in order to give either the survivor or the responsible person time to reflect on an appropriate response?
The preparation period before holding the conference has the goal of providing time and coaching for each participant to use the conference appropriately and productively. Certainly, it takes time for a responsible person to reflect on what they have done, and this additional time is provided through the supervision stage of the program.
