Hardwood or Laminate?

0

Really, this is the question of personal taste, however here are some good and bad points to look at. Hardwood floors in general are more expensive, can fade in the sun and are prone to dents and scratches. So if you have kids, it will probably not be wise to have hardwood flooring. On the other hand, hardwood flooring is warm and has an authentic natural look. Hardwood floors can also be sanded and varnished several times. Laminated floors are scratch and dent proof, do not fade, are easy to clean and less expensive (except floors for commercial use). There is no need to sand and varnish them ever. Laminates could have many different dcors, not only the traditional wood effect. On the other hand laminated floors are cold and a bit more slippery, but more hardwearing.
