Hair gel, mousse or wax – which is better for styling fine hair?
NOT WAX! That is way too heavy for fine hair. I have super fine hair and tried a wax from Bead Head before…I didn’t even put that much in and it weighed my hair down tremendously! Wax is heavy…it’s not light at all. What you need is a good mousse. And remember…if you put in too much of anything it will weigh your hair down, mousse as well, so only use the recommended amount and if you have chin length hair or shorter…1/3 of the suggested amount. Gel does not make you bald, age and disease does. If it makes your hair look wet that’s because you put too much in, same goes for if you can see your scalp. And I actually use gel, one from LA Looks, just to keep the fly-aways down. My hair never looks wet or greasy, but it does weigh down your hair a little more than mousse, not as much as wax. Also if you put it on wet hair, then it will dry with a wet look. I only put mine on dry hair…less than a pea sized amount.
