To change the language setting in Word, do the following: • Click on the ‘Tools’ menu • Select the ‘Language’ menu item • Select the ‘Set Language’ item from the sub-menu that appears. • Choose the language you wish to use from the list in the window that appears. Note: Languages which have spellcheckers available will have a checkmark beside them. Now that the language is changed, when you spellcheck or grammercheck the document it should be comparing words to the new language dictionary you choose. WARNING: Microsoft Word allows you to have different sections of text using different languages in the same document. If you have already typed any text into the document before changing the language, the original text may still be in English. To ensure your entire document is using the the same language settings, select all the text before changing the language. (‘Select All’ in the ‘Edit’ menu).
