GRP is more expensive then other Tanks, Why?
The GRP Tanks are a more expensive form of water storage, but the reason is they are engineered to last the full 50 year lifecycle. The GRP Tanks are based on the standard SS245 and have a safety factor of 6 (FOS 6), where as some steel tank manufactures use a factor of safety of 2 to 2.5 (FOS 2), hence the reason for large Tank maintenance and replacement expenditure in Australia. TankTech are distributing a product that is resilient against corrosion and does not require internal liners or expensive maintenance measures to ensure no catastrophic failures occur.
