• You must ask five faculty members to be on your Exam Committee. Four should be Faculty in the History department and one faculty member must be from another UCI department. • The outside member need not have worked with you, nor be in a field related to your interests. They are there to insure that the exam is conducted fairly. • The faculty on your committee need to sign a pre-Ph.D. advancement to candidacy form before you take your exam. [Link to form coming!
