On the TA-50 Field Gear and/or Uniforms that were purchased by the service member; He has the option to list them as professional items (which will not be counted against his HHG shpmt) or include them in his HHG shpmt which will be counted against the HHG weight entitlement. If they are lost – The Service member should bring to the Personal Property Office a packet; the DD1840 (pink) claim form, his inventory of items, a letter written by the service member stating what happened/what he witness during pack-out and the orders that moved the shpmt. Personal Property will try to recover the missing items for the service member. If this cannot be done, Personal Property PPPO will give a written statement to the service member along with a copy of the packet. Then, the service member will go to Legal and file claim.
