I have recently set up a Goldfish tank with specs as follows: Fish: 2 comets and one “other” – total fish length about 25 cm Plants: About 10 plants – Java Ferns and other hardy types secured to bogwood and rocks Size: 75 x 29 x 40 cm Volume: about 80 litres (21 gal U.S.) >>My calculations give me a hair over 23 gallons U.S., but still small for this number of fish. Filtration: Eheim Aquaball 2212 internal (rated for 100 – 200 litre aquarium) plus an Eheim powerhead for surface agitation. >>Best way to sort rating is flow rate. We shoot for a minimum of 3x the tank volume/hour, a bit more is good, too. I have a small bag of carbon hanging in the outlet flow of the filter to try to counter the yellowing of the water from the bogwood. Placement: Outside! The tank gets about 4 hours of direct sun in the morning at the moment and the daily temperature is between 22C and 27C. There is a heater in the tank so the night time temperature doesn’t fall be
