GM Free & GE – What is the difference?
• According to the Food Standards Code of Australia and New Zealand (FSANZ), foods that do not have any detectable Genetically Modified Organisms (in real speak this means proteins) are classified as GM Free. • Freedom Foods complies with the FSANZ Food Code in relation to the labelling of GM food. • Under this code, all Freedom Foods products are GM Free. • For more info, please go to http://www.foodstandards.gov.au GE • We believe that our consumers who care about Genetically Modified foods, want to ensure that not only do the products that they buy have no detectable GM proteins, but that they have been made from “the seed to the supermarket” with no contact whatsoever with GM ingredients (such as stock feed or oils). • So Freedom Foods has put in place an Identity Preservation Program that ensures full traceability of the sources of all ingredients used in the making of our products. • This is currently a work in progress as we work with our supplies on reviewing every single ingre
