Beta blockers are not contraindication for anesthesia. However, if local anesthesia is to be given, it should be plain local anesthesia i.e. anesthesia without norepinephrine or epinephrine to avoid unopposed stimulation of the alpha receptors which may lead to hypertensive crisis.
