Given the economic situation, isn’t a “flexible path” to exploration a smart idea?
The problem with a “flexible path” is that it has no specific destination and could therefore end up costing considerably more since you don’t really know what you’re trying to accomplish. We believe that without a goal, a “flexible path” could easily end up sending NASA in circles until funding finally dries up because nothing is being accomplished.
