From academic year 2005/06 onwards, the expected extent of skills training and the corresponding funding for PhD students and postdoctoral researchers will be similar. The differences in academic years 2003/04 and 2004/05 are due to the different assumptions that were made about numbers of eligible PhD students/postdoctoral researchers, duration of training, and take-up, as explained in A1 and A4.
