To have a software package evaluated for installation by ECR6 Management, contact Geoff Hulse, the Computer Facility Director. In general, we tend to be pretty open-minded about software installations, provided the software won’t impose any limitations on the computer on which it’s to be installed. For example, most DOS-based applications have their own way of supporting printing, most of which are incompatible with our printing mechanisms. On the other hand, Windows-based applications all use the same printing paradigm, so given a software package available for both DOS and Windows, we would prefer installing the Windows-based version.
