GISTnet web design and learning interface seems very plain (no glitz). Why?
Our page and content design is driven by our customer base and Internet technology concerns. These include: • Security—Our system (GISTware) uses no “active” content (e.g., no Flash, Java, JavaScript, or Active X controls) because some of our customers have network firewalls that stop download of such executable code to prevent harm within their network. You can set your browser security to the highest levels and GISTnet will continue working—something not true with most other Internet training providers. • Platform and browser neutrality—Our system uses standard Internet technology in order to work properly on any browser and operating system. This is indeed the core benefit of HTML and Internet technology. With GISTware there is no need for special plug-ins or downloaded applets for learning interactions other than a media player when media is used. • Page format—We use minimal page formatting.
