Once you add a copper based medication to the tank you can never use the tank for invertebrates (shrimp, beneficial snails, etc) again. You also can’t put any type of catfish in the tank as copper will burn the skin of scaleless fish. The best way to eliminate the snails is either by adding one or more loaches to the tank such as a clown loach or redtail botia (these particularly love to eat snails), or by reducing the amount of food you’re feeding to the tank. Snails are opportunistic feeders and breeders, and in the presence of too much food in the tank the snails will breed profusely. Reduce the amount of food and the snails will drop to a very small number because there’s little to no food for them to eat.
