Generally, when does the winter/summer semester begin and end?
Winter session is usually an accelerated semester offered between fall and spring. Normally 3-4 weeks or so. Few schools offer it because of the time of year makes it less popular and not all courses are suited for the highly compressed timeframe. Summer sessions are between spring and fall and generally could be anywhere from late May, ending until mid August. Some colleges have 2 semesters in summer, while others are just one semester. With 2 semesters, the length of the semester is even shorter, typically 6 weeks; 1 semester summers are a little longer, perhaps 7-9 weeks.
